A few things you should
know...
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR PC FROM INTRUSIONS & VIRUSES
It is very important you keep your system updated and safe against
instrusion and viruses. If your own computer is not safe, then your
personal information can be stolen without you noticing. Your email
addresses, your credit cards numbers could all be used by unfriendly
people.
1- Make sure your firewall is turned on when you are connected to
the Internet. Windows XP has an integrated firewall but Windows
98 doesn't (you need to install one).
2- You must regularly update your windows operating system with
all the security patches from "windows update" (windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
3- You should have an anti-virus installed on your computer and
make sure it is updated regulary with new virus definitions.
4- Never use or install a program you are not sure of. Some sharewares
and freewares such as Kazaa include malicious adwares that will
pollute your computer with unwanted advertizing.
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS FROM SPAM
1- Never give your address to an unreliable source.
2- Never put your email on a web page, unless it is coded in
a special way (javascript, image etc.) so that "spiders"
are unable to "sniff" it.. If you do not know how to do
this, please contact us and we'll do it for you.
3- As much as possible, chose an email that is not easy to guess...

addresses that you would better avoid.
HOW TO SHOP ONLINE SAFELY WITH A CREDIT CARD
1- You must trust the company (good reputation etc.).
2- The page where you type your credit card number must have an
address that beggins with https:// instead of http://
3- Make sure there are no security warnings telling you that the
page or parts of it are not secured.
